QUBED selected as the architect for this stunning detached home in Kingston Upon Thames / Coombe.

The client was seeking a Kingston Upon Thames Architect for the comprehensive remodelling and refurbishment of a beautiful Edwardian detached house. Their vision includes a ground floor side infill extension, carefully crafted to seamlessly integrate with the existing structure. While modernization is paramount, the wanted to preserve the charm and character of the home’s front-facing formal reception rooms and traditional features. The new house is intended to be a long-term family home.

The Edwardian country house is located in Coombe, Kingston Upon Thames. The site falls within a conservation area. The existing house has a floor area of 540 square meters.

This refurbishment project entails reconfiguring the rear ground floor alongside the addition of a contemporary side infill extension, enriching the living experience with spacious open-plan areas and unobstructed vistas of the meticulously landscaped garden, facilitated by frameless fixed glazing. Meticulously attending to detail, proportion, and scale, our design ethos ensures a layout that seamlessly harmonizes with and honors the inherent character of the original structure.
